REDMOND, WA, December 16, 2021 – Pattern Computer® Inc. (PCI) is pleased to announce that Dr. William Jeffrey is joining the PCI Advisory Board. Dr. Jeffrey retired this month from his prior position as CEO of SRI International.

Dr. Jeffrey’s career includes service as President and CEO of HRL Laboratories (previously Hughes Laboratories), Director of NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), and Senior Director for Homeland and National Security within the Executive Office of the President Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). He also held several positions at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

A research and scientific leader in the fields of physical sciences, traditional and quantum computing, bioscience, energy, and information sciences, Dr. Jeffrey has focused for over 30 years on developing and delivering research innovations that have been, and continue to be, converted into applied applications to improve cyber security, signal processing, threat detection, and more.

Bill Jeffrey is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society, an elected Honorary Member of the International Society of Automation, a recipient of the 2008 Navigator Award from the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, and a recipient of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service. He is a member of the Board of Directors of TE Connectivity Ltd, and Atom Computing. Jeffrey received his M.A. and Ph.D. in astronomy from Harvard University, and his B.Sc. in physics is from MIT.

Recent discoveries at Pattern Computer include the ProSpectral COVID detection device. This rapid (3-10 second), chemical – free system delivers balanced 98.5% performance, or can be calibrated to perform with 100% sensitivity (detection of positive samples), with a specificity of no less than 92% (detection of negative samples). The company is also in its 4th and 5th round of tests for a direct treatment for triple-negative breast cancer, while also “moving the needle” on all four other top cancer killers this year.
